　　frustrated

　　無奈。這應該是老外在工作場合使用最多的表示心情的單詞，沒有之一，以前專門寫過一篇文章解釋過。

　　=angry，但極少見美國人用angry的，一般都直接說I'm pissed off. I did this just to piss him off. 可能是angry較正式，而pissed off很口語，而且側重於一種短暫的生氣狀態，翻譯成「被惹生氣」，「氣死了」比較好。我美國同事說，He was pissed off when I said Taiwan is China.(當我說臺灣是中國的`一部分時，他氣死了）。注意，英國英語裡pissed off是喝醉的意思。

　　mad

　　= angry，典型的美國習慣用語，英國英語裡是瘋狂的意思（當然在美式英語正式用語裡也有瘋狂的意思，比如madman）。和pissed off的區別是，pissed off是帶點粗俗的口語，mad沒有粗俗意味，但是也是口語。常用搭配是mad at somebody. Are you still mad at me?

　　furious

　　=very very angry暴怒，比angry程度高很多。搭配是furious at/about something, furious with somebody.

　　annoyed

　　被某件事惹惱了，有一點點生氣。比如我去美國的時候，晚上用洗衣機洗衣服，我同事說，超過10點後別洗衣服，不然鄰居會annoyed.

　　upset

　　這個詞既表示「生氣」又表示「擔心」，我以前也很疑惑。

　　本意是指「弄翻」，比如upset the cup. 比如腸胃不舒服get an upset stomach.

　　當心情被打亂的時候，既可以是生氣，也可以是擔心。

　　表示我很擔心你時，說I'm so upset about you(這裡不是說對你很生氣，而是說我時刻擔心你，都沒辦法平靜）。

　　表示你說的話讓我很生氣，說I'm upset about what you said to me（這裡就不是很擔心，而是你剛才說的話讓我很生氣很煩，心情沒辦法平靜）。

　　not in the mood

　　完全對應中文中的「沒心情」。

　　I'm not in the mood to answer your question. 我沒心情回答你的問題。

　　I'm not in the mood to work after the holiday. 放假後我沒心情上班。

　　freak out

　　和upset一樣，並沒有對應的中文來翻譯，只是一種是情緒失控的狀態，至於原因可以多種。

　　害怕、生氣、抓狂、驚訝、悲傷都可以讓你情緒失控。

　　比如害怕。

　　比如抓狂。

　　中文中「發飆」用freak out是最合適的。

　　The boss freaked out on the spot when he knew the result. 老闆知道結果後當場發飆。

　　He freaked out when the pink slip showed up on his desk. 他收到解僱通知書嚇壞了。

　　The stock market freaked out. 股票市場恐慌了。

　　Her mother's death freaked her out.

　　paranoid

　　本意是指「妄想症」，總是懷疑別人想害自己。在日常口語中，經常用來表達「過度害怕某事發生」，中文中沒有完全對應的詞語表達這個意思。

　　比如工作中說“I'm so paranoid the test would fail。就是很擔心這個測試會不透過。

　　另外一個非常好的例子就是，考駕照科目二，掛過兩次，第三次的時候，那個心情就是I'm paranoid about my driving test.

　　比如當年SARS或者甲流爆發的時，很多人非常害怕自己感染，就可以說paranoid about catching the flu.

　　cold feet

　　因為害怕而臨陣退縮，這個短語非常常用。

　　He got cold feet when he was ready to come to the manager's office asking for a salary raise. 他本來想去找老闆談加薪，但是臨陣退縮了。

　　I got cold feet when asked to make a speech. 當叫我發言時，我嚇得不敢上臺。

　　up to here with ...

　　受夠了。here指的脖子，本意是指吃東西飽了夠到脖子裡這裡了。

　　I’m up to here with you. 我真是受夠你了。

　　I'm up to here with the job. 這份工作我真是受夠了。

　　astonished

　　= very surprised，使大吃一驚。

　　Your reply astonished me. 你的回答讓我頗感意外。

　　I'm astonished at the result of US presidential election. 美國大選結果讓我非常吃驚。

　　on the fence

　　觀望中、考慮中。fence是籬笆，本意是指站在籬笆上隨時可以決定到底跳那邊。

　　-When are you going to buy a home? 你打算什麼時候買房？

　　-I'm still on the fence. 我還在觀望中。

　　I’m on the fence about the new policy. 我對新政還在觀望中。
