　　在農村，孩子們常常要走幾里路，尤其是邊遠山區的還要翻過高山，跨國小橋——才能來到學校。放學，孩子們又摸黑或舉著火把，在漆黑而冰冷的夜晚走著山路回家。他們的生活並不富裕，一頓飯不可能有雞、有魚、有鴨——只有鹹菜、野菜，酒桌從家裡被來的冰冷的、硬邦邦的饅頭，喝一碗稀飯。但他們臉上仍洋溢著喜悅，他們會珍惜這來之不易的一切，他們懂得珍惜幸福。

　　在大城市裡生活的孩子。他們常常坐著小車，坐公轎車，穿這各色的衣裳，揹著流行的書包去上學。放學了，他們車接車送的回家。他們的晚飯十分豐盛，往往少不了牛肉，雞、鴨、魚——但他們還不滿足，不是先油膩，就嫌肉太肥了。他們很不珍惜眼前的這一切，他們過著衣來伸手，飯來張口的日子，想要的東西得不到還亂髮脾氣，從不幫家裡人做家務。和農村的孩子比起來，城裡的孩子不懂得珍惜，他們生在福中不知福。他們要求得更多，不懂得珍惜這來之不易的幸福。
