⒈ 作家，翻譯家。浙江紹興人。1906年去日本留學。1911年回國後任北京大學、燕京大學教授。1920年參與組織文學研究會。抗戰期間曾在日偽機關任職。抗戰勝利後因漢奸罪被國民黨政府監禁。建國後專事著譯。著有散文集《自己的園地》、《雨天的書》以及《知堂回想錄》等，譯有《日本狂言選》、《伊索寓言》。
