“What are you busy with yourself, Mother?” the girl of less than six years old asked her mother curiously.

“Making dinner for the neighbor’s aunt.”

  “Why?”

“Because the other day the aunt lost her dear daughter and is so sad now. We must take good care of her these days.”

  “Why need our care?’

“Because from then on the aunt cannot do what they liked to along with her daughter. She is very pitiful. In her distress, making dinners and doing chores are also becoming so difficult. My dear, can you help Mother hit an idea to help the aunt in other ways?”

At her mother’s proposal, the girl thought for a long while. All of a sudden, she went to the neighbor and knocked at the door.

The neighbor with a look of haggardness and tiredness opened the door.

“What can I do for you?” asked the neighbor.

“I heard my mother say you’re very distressed for losing your daughter…” The girl timidly handed the band-aid tightly held in her hand to the neighbor.

The neighbor suddenly choked with sobs, her tears gushing from her eyes. She hugged the girl and said, “Thank you. This band-aid will cure my wound.”

A young father asked an elderly neighbor how strict parents should be with their children.

The old man pointed to a rope between a big tree and a young one, saying:"Untie the rope."

The young father did so and at once the young tree bent. Then the old man asked the young man to tie it again, and immediately the young tree stod upright as it used to.

Now the old man said,"There, it is the same with children. You must be strict with them for their healthy growth. But sometimes you must let them stand alone to see if they are strong enough. Being strict with them is for the sake of their independence development."

A prisoner picked up 1,000yuan in the course of building the road outside the prison. Hehanded it out without hesitation. However, someone in charge of the prison said to him incontempt, “Stop cheating! With your own money, play such a trick to bribe me; what you wantto gain back is the reduced sentence; people of your sort are not honest.”

In total despair, the prisoner believed that no one in the world would trust him any more. Sohe escaped from prison that night.

On his way to flight, he plundered money and values without restraint. After plunderingenough pelf, he took a train bound for the border. The carriages were so crowded that he hadto stand close to a water closet. At this moment, a quite beautiful girl walked into the closet, and found that the latch was broken when she closed the door. She stepped out and whisperedto him, “Sir, could you guard the door for me?”

In a daze for a second, he, looking into the pure eyes of the girl, nodded his head. The girl wentinto the closet with a blush; and he guarded the door tightly like a loyal guard.

At that very moment, he changed his mind suddenly. At the next stop he got off the train, andwent to give himself up to the police at the train station.

Trust is the most precious thing in this world. It cannot be bought, or gained by lure or force. It comes deep from one’s soul, and lives in the clear spring of the soul. It can redeem the souland make the soul and make the heart full of purity and confidence.
