What is nature? Its everything that exists in the world independently of people, such as pants and animals, earth and rocks, and the weather. Now more and more people are focusing on the nature.

It is no doubt that the nature is important to every human being.

  No nature, no life.

Because of the supplies of the nature, we have lived happily for a long time.

And we started to gain every thing available from the nature.

And this lasted so long a time.

Today, people have discovered that the nature around is getting worse and worse. What is threatening the nature? Air and water pollution, over harvesting of plant and animal species, overpopulation and so on.

Overpopulation is the biggest source of pollution.

Lets take overpopulation as an example. What does overpopulation feel like? When we move slowly through the city in a taxi.

When we enter a crowded slum district.

When the temperature is high and when the air is thick with dust and smoke.

The streets are crowded with people.

The streets seem alive with people.

  People eating.

  People washing.

  People talking.

  People sleeping.

People visiting each other, arguing and screaming.

  People relieving themselves.

People pushing their hands through the taxi windows, begging.

  People leading animals.

  People, people, people, people.

As we drive slowly through the crowd, sounding the taxis horn, the dust, heat, noise and cooking fires made it like a scene from hell! I admit, frightening. To the nature, overpopulation is a big problem.

  More people, more pollution.

And the big population is threatening the nature every second. The rapid rise in world population is not creating problems only for the developing countries.

The whole world faces the problem that raw materials are being used up at an increasing rate and food production can not keep up with the population increase.

People in rich countries make the heaviest demands on the worlds resources, its food, fuel and land, and cause the most pollution.

A baby born in the United States will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the worlds resources than a baby born in India.

Unless all the countries of the world take united action to deal with the population explosion there will be more and more people fighting for a share of less and less land, food and fuel, and the future will bring poverty, misery and war to us all.For most of the developing countries, it is a good idea to control the population growth.

  :The Harmonious Society

  Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen:

Today, we are here to talk about such a great topic-the Harmonious Society, but I only want to stress on one point, dedication. I think this is one of the most important factors of making our society harmonious.

In a simple way, we can explain the harmonious society as a society that everyone is happy. It needs our dedication.

So, think about what you can do for our society but not what the society can do for you .Only in this way can we do some things for the Harmonious Society. This is the first step of dedication. Maybe your power is not big, but believer it or not, the society does need you! So just do it. And then the society will repay you with happiness and anything else you ought to have.

It is said that if everyone became selfish, then no one can be selfish. Our wisdom tells us dedication is necessary. If you were caring for everyone, then everyone is caring for you. On the contrary, few people will be satisfied, and fewer people will be happy. And our society will never be harmonious. Only dedication can help us avoid this.

In my opinion, dedicating to the society is not only dedicating to the society or any strangers, but also dedicating to your parents, to your children, to your lover, to your friends and even to yourself. Think of them, then you will consider your dedication worthwhile. When you work, you will be full of power and passion. You will easily overcome any difficulties. You will be afraid of nothing. It's all because you are dedicating to the ones you loved. Your efforts will make them happy and also, at the same time, make the society harmonious.

That harmonious society is such a beautiful society I can't even imagine. But now, we have to face the fact that there many things in our society aren't harmonious. The orphan is crying alone quietly. The child too poor to go to school is looking at the school gate with great expectation. Do you want to help them? The corrupt official is drinking the people's blood. The selfish businessman is making counterfeit products. Do you want to punish them? I believe everyone here has a heart filled with mercy and justice. No one wants to see these things happen. Therefore, it needs our dedication.

We dedicate for love. We dedicate for mercy. We dedicate for hope. We dedicate for justice. We dedicate for reason. We dedicate for the Harmonious Society!

Ladies and Gentlemen: believe in me, all unhappiness in our society holds great terror and faces obliteration with your dedication. And after all that , the Harmonious Society finally comes!

  :Success is a Feeling

Everyone wants success. But what is success? Generally, people think success is a great deal of money, high position, academic achievement, and so on. However, most of these people never really define what success means to them. In my opinion, success is a feeling, which makes you happy and content.

Success is a feeling, that means success is not considered as big or small, high or low. It is just a good mood from your heart. Maybe passing a final test is a success for a student, learning to walk is a success for a little child, marrying a beautiful girl is a success for a lad, signing a contract is a success for a company. Success varies from individual to group.

Success is a feeling, that means success is changing since your childhood. While you were a little child, you thought it was a success that your parents finally bought you lovely toys after you begged again and again. Success is the feeling you had when you were told that you won the contest. After graduation, you started working. You were successful when you finished a complicated task very well and you were praised. When married, maybe a happy marriage and a happy family meant success for you. When your child grew up, you hoped he or she attend a famous university or go abroad to study or work, at that time you considered that was your success. When you were old enough and couldnt work at all, success was a feeling that your children and grandchildren came to see you from a long distance. Actually, success always accompanied you in your growth.

However, we have to admit that you cant be successful all the time. We always meet many difficulties on the way to success. The more difficult it is, the much happier we are when we succeed.

To be successful, we should have a clear aim and then try our best to reach it. Wherever you go, whatever you are, your success belongs to yourself. It is a good feeling that you love it very much, and it really can make you laugh from the heart.

  :future

Ladies and Gentlemen, Good morning! Im very glad to stand here and give you a short speech.

Mans life is a process of growing up, actually Im standing here is a growth. If a persons life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up along with these choices. Once I hope I can study in a college in future, however thats passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the future holds for me.

When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near future, all starts here. Following I will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job.

Once my teacher said :“ you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” I will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process I will combine learning with doing. If I can achieve this “future”, I think that I really grow up. And I deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future.

How to say future? Maybe its a nice wish. Lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.

  :

I remember when I was a little girl, I often stood on my toes, trying to find my face in the mirror of the dressing table, which was nearly as high as I was.

Now I still like to look into the mirror.

Only now, the dressing table is too low for me.

As I bend down, I see the face of a young woman, glowing with maturity, confident in her future and fascinated with her own reflection.

The fact that I like to look into the mirror has to do with my granny with whom I spent most of my childhood.

I remember clearly that one night I heard her murmuring, Women cant be seen.

  Women cant be seen.

I was so confused as to look into the mirror the next morning to check if I could indeed see myself.

Only now as a young woman myself, can I understand that it was not physical visibility that granny had on her mind.

Granny spent all her life taking care of the family, day in and day out.

She cooked for her husband and 10 children.

But whenever guests came, she and other female family members had to eat by the stove in the small kitchen.

At family discussions, she was never asked for her opinion.

After grandpa passed away, she had to listen to my uncle, her eldest son, fulfilled her duty as daughter, wife, and mother; yet as a person, she remained little noticed.

Even though she could see herself in the mirror of the dressing table, she was never visible in the mirror of society.

I have been living a different life.

At home, I make decisions together with the rest of the family.

In school, I often take charge of various activities the same as other boys and girls.

Not only that, I can see something granny could not have dreamed of─making decisions for my own future.

My life has been a series of decisions.

I could choose from several universities as I came out of high school.

At university, I could choose from a range of subjects from English literature to business law.

And now upon graduation, I am again faced with decisions─to further my study or to go to work; to stay in China or to go abroad; to get married right away or to remain single for a bit longer.

It does not matter whether or not I will become famous or rich, but I will treasure the chance to demonstrate my potential and to help other women demonstrate theirs as full members of society, fully visible in the mirror of history.
