  Roses for My Wife

On the way home one night, I spotted some fresh-cut roses outside a florist's shop. Afterselecting a dozen and entering the shop, I was greeted by a young saleswoman.

"Are these for your wife, sir?" she asked.

  "Yes," I said.

  "For her birthday?" she asked.

  "No," I replied.

  "For your anniversary?"

  "No," I said again.

As I pocketed my change and headed toward the door, the young woman called out, "I hopeshe forgives you."

  Shave head

Recently, a man walked into my barbershop asking how much for a haircut. "Eight dollars," Ianswered. "And for a shave?" "Five dollars." "All right," he said, settling into the barber chair. "Shave my head."

  Speeding

  超速

Traveling salesmen make their living visiting as many customers as possible. So speeding to getfrom one appointment to the next is not unheard-of. Which is how I got pulled over by ahighway patrolman. "Don't you ever look at the speedometer?" the officer scolded. Before Iknew it, the truth spilled from my mouth. "As fast as I was going," I admitted, "I was afraid totake my eyes off the road."
