  :老獅子和狐狸

  An old lion who had no energy to hunt thinks it can get its food with its wisdom.

  有一頭年老的獅子已經不能憑藉力量去搶奪食物了,心想,只能用智取得方法才能獲得更多的食物。

  So, it digs a hole, lies down and pretends to be sick. If other animal come to see what's the matter with the lion he eats them. So, some animals were eaten by the lion. The fox sees through the trap, it stands near the hole and the look at the state of the lion's body. The lion says: I feel sick. It asks why the fox doesn't come in the hole. The fox answers: Maybe I would if I didn't see thouse footprints which show some animals havewalked in but they haven't come out.

  於是啊,他鑽進一個山洞裡,躺在地上假裝生病,等其他的小動物走過來窺探,就把她們抓住吃了。這樣,不少的動物都被獅子吃掉了。狐狸識破了獅子的詭計,遠遠的站在洞外,問獅子身體現在如何。獅子回答說:嗨喲,很不好啊! 反問狐狸為什麼不進洞裡來。狐狸說道:如果我沒發現只有進去的腳印,沒有一個出來的腳印,我也許會進洞去。

  The story tells us that the wise man foresees the danger and escapes frome it

  這是說,聰明的人常常能審時度勢,根據跡象遇見到危險,避免不幸。

  :那不是我的狗

  That Is Not My Dog!

  A woman walks into a pet shop and sees a cute little dog. She asks the shopkeeper, “Does your dog bite?”

  The shopkeeper says, “No, my dog does not bit.”

  The woman tries to pet the dog and the dog bites her.

  “Ouch!” She says, “I thought you said your dog does not bite!”

  The shopkeeper replies, “That is not my dog!”

  那不是我的狗

  一個婦人走進一家寵物店,看見一隻很可愛的小狗。她問店主:“你的狗咬人嗎?”

  店主說:“不,我的狗不咬人。”

  於是這個婦人試著撫摸小狗,可是小狗卻咬了她。

  “哎喲!”婦人說,“我想你剛才還說你的狗不咬人。”

  店主人回答說:“那不是我的狗。”

  :牛和狗

  The Ox and the Dog

  An ox and a dog serve for the same farmer.

  One day the dog arrogantly says: “How grand I am! In the daytime, I watch out for the cattle in the meadows; at night, I guard the house. But you…”

  “Me? How about me ?” the ox says

  “You can only plough or draw a cart,” the dog slightly says.

  “Yes. It’s true,” the ox says. “But if I don’t plough, what do you guard?”

  牛和狗

  一頭牛和一隻狗同時為一個農夫工作。

  一天, 狗驕傲地說著;‘我是多麼重要啊!白天我在牧場看護家群,晚上我看家。而你呢…..?”

  “我?我怎麼啦?“ 牛反問。

  “你只會犁地或是拉扯。”狗不懈地說。

  “是的。你說得沒有錯,”牛回答道。“但是如果沒有我犁地,你看護什麼呢?”

  :誤會

  Wrong

  Mark’s favorite cup is broken, and he feels unhappy. Susan sees and asks him, “ You look sad. What’s the matter?”

  Mark says, “There is something wrong with my cup.”

  Susan says, “Don’t worry. I can repair it.”

  Mark feels surprised and asks, “Repair? You can repair it? You?”

  “Yes. Believe me! Where is it?” Susan answers.

  “Here. My cup is broken. Are you sure you can repair it?” Mark takes out his cuo.

  誤會

  馬克最喜歡的杯子了,他很不開心。蘇珊看見了就問他:“你看上去不太開心。怎麼了?”

  蘇珊說:“別擔心。我會補好它的。”

  馬克聽了感到奇怪,就問她:“補?你會補?真的嗎?”

  “沒錯。相信我。在哪裡呢?”蘇珊說。

  “這兒。我的cup破了。你確信補好它嗎?”馬克拿出了杯子。

  “cup? 你以為是cap.”蘇珊說道。說完他倆都笑了。
